The British Street-bike motorcycle stunt scene has progressed alongside the rest of the world’s stunt fraternity at an impressive rate over the past 5 years and has, rightly so, gained a huge fan base and an impressive feature at any event for spectators and competitors alike.
Since the transfer of freestyle dirt BMX and Mountain-biking tricks crossed over to Freestyle MX that blew up over the past decade, another bike related hybrid sport of stunt based engine powered lunacy has been creeping its way into the mainstream, from car-parks and industrial estates everywhere....Street-bike Stunt championships have detonated onto the scene with a vengeance! If you have ever seen BMX flatland where pin-point accuracy and unsurpassed levels of bike control amazed us with mind-boggling bar-spins and positions we only thought possible from pictures in the Kamasutra, that seemingly defeated the laws of gravity, then merge that with the roar of an inline 4 and a new breed of human stunt-rider. Pinging off the rev-limiter while the tail end scrapes the floor, ass planted on the tank whilst pinning the bike vertical, rotating endless 360’s static on the back wheel and the clatter of metal and plastic on the tarmac, these skills create eye-opening jaw-dropping fuel fed fast paced action that will get ANY crowd on its feet and will NEVER fail to impress the masses.
Stunting is now far removed from just fast wheelies and lots of tyre smoke – although they’re still part of the spectacle - as the feats achieved on one wheel, with both, one or no hands, really have to be seen to be believed! Shredding tyres and engines bouncing off the rev-limiters are now joined by a gymnastic level of athleticism as the riders climb all over their bikes while still maintaining control of throttle, clutch and brake that most of us could only dream of!
