For motorcycle fans in the North and North West the first weekend in
January can only mean one thing - the National Motorcycle Show at
Manchester Central (formerly G-MEX)
9th & 10th Jan 2010
(details to follow)
2009 Show details
An action packed high-octane start to the New Year with everything you would expect and more from the greatest regional bike show.
Heart-stopping stunt displays, the dynamic Indoor Freestyle Arena, a host of dealer and trade stands, as well as dealer approved used bikes and a classic bike and classic scooter display.
Exciting new feature for 2009
Extreme Globe Riders - Heidi and Mikko from Finland.
This show is a spectacular and absolutely heart stopping performance where you will experience the thrill of danger, along with
great effects and commentary. The riders reach over 5 G and cross each
other with speed over 70 km/h.
SPECIAL FEATURES
The Xtreme Trials show is great family entertainment with uncanny balancing skills and a touch of comedy, all on offer from Dan Clark and Martin Crosswaite. These two maestros of throttle control can make a trials bike jump several feet into the air, and their wheelie skills are as legendary as their `Jack n Vera‘ style Northern banter.
Outdoor Rider Training Feature
Looking to take your test?.....Young or mature riders who want to improve their skills can take advantage of the free assessments by Stockport School of Motorcycling, who will be just outside the Manchester Central Hall. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been riding bikes, there’s always something you can gain from a ride-out like this, and it could save your life one day.
Touring and Leisure Area
More and more riders are looking to escape the rainy British weather and what better way to plan a tour of Eastern Europe, New Zealand or the USA, than visiting the Touring and Leisure Zone at the show? A selection of bike tours specialists will be on hand to answer those tricky questions on visas, driving rules, tips on what to carry, preparing your motorcycle etc. Your trip of a lifetime could start right here in Manchester.
Custom and Extreme Performance Corner
Another high impact feature is in the form of a Custom and Extreme Performance Corner. Displaying all that is weird and wonderful in the world of modified motorcycles, from mildly tweaked production bikes to bespoke machines that are engineered in every way imaginable.
